The one problem you might have (and this is just an art-thing) is that the main visual line in your header image directs attention off of the page--you might consider mirror-flipping the image so that the pen's ink-end is pointed towards the text.  But other than that--perfect.

Very nice blog theme, caught my eye immediately, I redid my blog theme over at my poetry blog but nothing as nice, I am not as good a graphic artist.  One thing I would do and its just a me thing is have the posts on the left and the column on the right, for some reason I like reading posts on the left, it is a peeve of mine.

Positive Feedback: look gorgeous.  Really emphasizes your passion for writing.  Found it quite appropriate.

Negative Feedback: if you're still specializing in the horror genre of writing, I prefer your older design with the blood splatters.  I thought it was more creative and appealing (since I'm a major fan of zombies and the like).  

Suggestion Feedback: Your blog post frame sizes are smaller than before.  Although you can now displays more content from your web site but the focus is less on what you write.  There is more web site content that is distracting, especially with all the social networking icons on the top of your page.  

Overall, I think your husband did a great job with a beautiful design.  It's very clean.  But I must confess that I enjoyed the other web site better due to personal tastes and more emphasis on the blog post content, and not so much on the web site sections (such as the visual header, the blog links, entrecard ads, etc.).

Either way, I'm just glad to discover you're back online.  I'm still aiming to publish my upcoming novel so it's always encouraging to see your posts about the writing career.  Looking forward to more posts!
